Sarah Palin is one who has ties to the neocons. Pat Buchanan who is a traditional conservative of the Republican party has written extensively about the dangers of provoking Russia. He has accused the neocons of being reckless and more concerned with empire building than with national security. Sarah Palin has the backing of neocons and for that reason I want to single her out.

Sarah Palin comes across as a sweet gal, a charismatic figure if you will. She has been a beauty contestant, a leader in basketball as a point guard, captain of her high school basketball team that won a state championship. She has "the right stuff" in so many ways.

However, she has "the very wrong stuff" in so many other ways. Sarah has been a religious person all her life. It is not just that she is religious that is the problem, but it is what her religion stands for that makes her a threat to world peace. She once said that it was holy to fight in Iraq. Most people would disagree with that statement. But there she was in June 2008 telling the Wasilla Assembly of God that the "task" in Iraq was from God.

While that may sound great on paper, isn't that why we are so concerned with the holy wars in history, the fights between  Protestants and Catholics, the tortures, the killng? Why is it that so many who claim to be Christian want war and torture? Jesus himself said that his kingdom was not of this world. So how can torture and war to take property from others be a holy endeavor? How can any war other than of self defense of borders be even sanctioned by God?

My view is that no war is holy, and sanctioned war only relates to the defense of borders. Certainly Iraq was not a defense of borders, and most agree it was to claim oil reserves for US and British petroleum companies. Otherwise, why would the author of the war, Paul Wolfowitz, claim that Iraq was swimming on a sea of oil in speeches given in Europe. Google it!

For Sarah Palin, war and Jesus went hand in hand. That is what she was taught by a very radical preacher in the Wasilla church. But it is not bible based. It is not a correct interpretation of scripture. It is not a reflection of any true understanding of Christ's own words, that his kingdom was not of this world and so his servants will not fight (for His spiritual kingdom). 

Whether you have a religious position or not, you CANNOT be comfortable with the concept that Sarah Palin could sour relations with the Russians again. I remind all of you that no one can destroy the United States except Russia. That mutually assured destruction is guaranteed, if we continue to try to provoke the Russian Bear. No one wants this bear to come out of hybernation. That is, no one but Palin and the reckless neocons. Think about that the next time you make your way to the polls, and remember that your grandchildren are counting on you to keep the neocons, like Palin, Jeb Bush, etc. out of office forever.   

Don't forget, the neocons philosophy is on record. With the demise of the Soviet Union they believed that they were now the fillers of the vacuum of world authority: ie in forging America into the world's single superpower. But we have seen how much corruption that power concentrated would bring, and their efforts to gain that power was indeed grim. Let us hope that they philosophy remains dead and discredited. But as long as Rush Limbaugh, and Hannity and Palin are leaders in the Republican party they remain a threat and must be tamped down,, politically, in the name of world peace!
